Camber this morning was blinding. Borrowed the demo usurf from Krafty and sprinted to the beach to find the usual Camber crew rigging 4.7s. Rigged my 4.5m and headed over the dunes. The sun was out and it was hot work and when I saw how far out the sea was I was cursing myself for not staying in Eastbourne and catching low tide there. Different story though once I got on the water. I've never had a sail like it at Camber. The waves weren't that big to start, but there was acres of space between them. Things got progressively bigger throughout the morning and there were some massive ramps for jumping and loads ot stuff for backside rides, and then a really flat lagoon for the inside gybe. Lots of good freestyle and looping going on. It was so good, I collared a dog walking on the beach and borrowed their phone to call home for an extension(!). That jinxed it - it clouded over, the rip switched on and even bagging out the sail wasn't enough. Figured it a good time to pack up and head home. I suspect it was just the passing shower, but I'd had just of two really good hours so wasn't that bothered about hanging around for more. Although I'm now thinking that a late one in Eastbourne would be the icing on the cake.

It's the first time I've sailed Camber when the tide is that low and I really liked it. The waves at high tide are probably double the size, but they come with a current that takes the fun away. This morning was the best I've had there.

The board helped too, it was so easy to sail. I can't really afford a new board, but it was too much fun so out with the RRD and in with the Exocet. Anyone looking for a WaveCult 76?

That definitely made up for yesterday.
